Rosatom starts building Russia’s biggest wind farm in Stavropol

MOSCOW, Sep 25 (PRIME) -- NovaWind, a wind power unit of state nuclear power corporation Rosatom, has started constructing the 210-megawatt (MW) Kochubeyevskaya wind power plant in the Stavropol Region, the biggest wind farm in Russia, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Investment will exceed 23 billion rubles. The facility will consist of 84 wind turbines each having a capacity of 2.5 MW.

“The Stavropol Region may become the key region for our wind farms. We plan to build some 400 MW of wind facilities here,” the statement quoted NovaWind CEO Alexander Korchagin as saying.
